Oak Park is an Oasis, Too

The previously posted rock n roll show was only a part of a nice little trip we took home to Chicago in August.

August 27: After our workdays we hit the road. Cornelius had a new car seat that he liked until he didn’t

August 28: Cornelius was glad to wake up in a stable place. I took an early morning solo walk to my old grade school and back.

We had Sweetgreen with Mom and Dad for lunch and here’s a picture of Liz in front of a blue door on our way to the train to Oasis.

August 29: Went into the city to walk the 606 with Mom and Dad before doing a nice Wicker Park wander, just Liz and me.

August 30: First, the Farmer’s Market with Dad.

Next, Brunch at the Publican with Everybody!

And then, sofa shopping all over the place with Liz! And it turns out we should have just gone to Ikea to begin with. Also: a little hot dog break and Gene & Jude’s — there was a wedding party there!

August 31: Took a long morning walk with Emily into River Forest and back. And went to church. And ate roast. And drove back to Columbus. Cornelius did NOT enjoy the drive back, it might be a while before he takes his next Oak Park trip. Choices have consequences, Kitty!
